Where is your office located?
Do horses talk?
Well, not like the famous Mr. Ed, of course.
But they do speak through body language and their breath.
Horses are adept at picking up on subtle energies and responding to incongruencies, which makes them masters at uncovering truth.
What if I am afraid of horses, do I have to work with them?
Absolutely not! Therapy with Heart’s Desire uses a multi-faceted approach, which includes Somatic Experiencing® a gentle approach to trauma resolution, and Reiki, energy work that can restore physical and emotional well-being. In addition, I am experienced and have trained in DBT, CBT, and psychodrama.
What is Somatic Experiencing®?
Somatic Experiencing® was discovered by Peter Levine after his studies of animals in the wild. It is a gentle approach to the renegotiation of trauma without re-living the trauma. You can read more about this technique under Specialties.
What is Reiki?
Reiki promotes healing by activating the relaxation response and helping the body to balance itself from a very deep level. You can read more about this technique under Specialties.
Do you work with individuals? Couples? Families? Groups?
I primarily work with individuals and groups; I can work with couples and families if necessary, in conjunction with the individual.
I also have special events from time to time so check the website for details on these.
What age range do you work with?
I work with adults and teens primarily ages 11-17, but I will work with younger children depending on circumstances.
When are office hours?
Sessions are currently by appointment only. Office hours vary and I can be flexible.
How much does each session cost?
First session (90 minutes) – $150.00
Follow-up sessions (60 minutes) – 100.00
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes. We can discuss this during the initial phone or in-person consultation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations without a 48-hour notice will result in the client being charged in-full for the missed session unless we can reschedule the same week.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Health Care, and Aetna.
What other forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, and all major credit cards.
